All the partners at Wessex Cardiology have expertise in delivering lectures and teaching. Many of whom have lectured at prestigious international conferences and organised conferences. Our conferences are often run in the beautiful Wessex Heartbeat Education suite at University Hospital Southampton. These facilities have the very latest AV facilities including the capability to view live cases from the cardiac catheter labs in high definition, as well as the ability to show all forms of imaging from echos to angiograms. Percutaneous coronary intervention
Professor Nicholas Curzen is an internationally renowned speaker and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences. He has been invited to teach on numerous courses and has done live cases before. In addition he has frequently set up and run courses. Along with Dr James Wilkinson, who has a longstanding interest in medical education, they have run a number of courses including Basic Cardiovascular Intervention (BCI) in 2013-14 and decision making in PCI. BCI is aimed at trainees wishing to do intervention and offers an exciting mix of lectures by renowned speakers, angio reviews, live cases and the chance to try PCI using the latest simulation technology. Decision making in PCI was a case based course aimed at consultants from the UK and abroad. You can download an overview of examples of courses below.
