GDPR compliance 2018
On Friday 25 May, 2018, a new law relating to personal data comes into effect that radically changes some of the requirements concerning data protection. The new law, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will impact: the way your data is handled and you have full control over how we can contact you. Wessex Cardiology LLP are fully compliant with the GDPR regulations and committed to supporting these important regulations. Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Wessex Cardiology will be sending all patients a GDPR consent letter. An example of this can be downloaded below, the actual letter will contain your name and details on both pages. Please read this carefully and return the completed form to us, unless you complete this form we will only be able to contact you in writing. Once we have your completed form we will not ask for it again. You can contact us at any time to change your preferences.
A full Patient Privacy Notice can be downloaded from below. If you would like a paper copy please let our secretaries know and we will send it to you by post.
Wessex Cardiology LLP is fully registered with ICO and pays the appropriate fees by direct debit to ICO. Our website uses cookies, if you choose to not accept these our website may be slower or not work. To opt out of cookies please click on the button below.
If you are concerned there has been a breach (a security breach that leads to the destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure of or access to personal data, even if temporary) please contact Donna Bulfin (Partnership Manager and Data Protection Officer for Wessex Cardiology) in the first instance. We are legally obliged to report certain breaches to ICO within 72 hours and some must be notified to patients and we will act fully in accordance with the regulations concerning this.
It is likely that you will receive similar information from the Spire Hospital (who are responsible for all your information they keep for Hospital purposes and regulations. You should equally read and complete all this Spire paperwork, even though it is very similar to that you need to complete for Wessex Cardiology. Should you need to contact the Spire Hospital, regarding any Spire GDPR issues related to the Spire Hospital then the Spire Data Protection Officer(DPO Officer) can be emailed on: gdpr@spirehealthcare.com
Whilst we are very sorry for the proliferation in excess paper work and bureaucracy, we hope you will understand and appreciate that this is due to legal requirements and is ultimately to protect your privacy/rights.
