Our partners

We are a group of nine consultant cardiologists. With the exception of Dr Golledge, who works for Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust (HHFT), all our consultants are based at the Wessex Cardiac Unit in University Hospital Southampton (UHS) NHS Foundation Trust (otherwise called Southampton General Hospital). Dr Simon Corbett

Qualified from St John’s College Cambridge in 1997 with Distinctions in Medicine, Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a first class honours degree in Pathology.

Dr Peter Cowburn

Dr Peter Cowburn is a consultant cardiologist with a specialist interest in heart failure at University Hospital Southampton.

Professor Nick Curzen

Nick Curzen is Professor of Interventional Cardiology in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton and a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in coronary artery and aortic valve intervention.

Dr Andrew Flett

Dr Andrew Flett is a Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospital Southampton, specialising in heart failure, advanced pacing and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. He combines specialist clinical practice with research leadership in device therapy and personalised risk assessment for patients with heart muscle disease and heart failure.

Dr Peter Golledge

Peter Golledge is currently a Consultant Cardiologist at The Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester and at Basingstoke (Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust).

Dr Paul Haydock

Paul is a consultant cardiologist at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) with special interests in heart failure and cardiac implantable electronic devices..

Professor Michael Mahmoudi

Studied medicine at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine where I was awarded distinctions in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and neurology.

Dr John Rawlins

Qualified in medicine from Imperial College school of medicine in 2003, having completed a BSc in Physiology at University College London in 2001.

Dr James Wilkinson

James joined Southampton General Hospital (University Hospital Southampton- UHS) as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in July 2011.
