DVLA fitness to drive and occupational checks

Driving after an operation or investigation is subject to certain restrictions. The DVLA have published recommendations regarding fitness to drive for a variety of cardiac and other conditions. These vary depending on the type of licence (group 1 or group 2), restrictions for large goods vehicles (Heavy goods and public service vehicles) being more restrictive. Occasionally we are asked to conduct medicals for people by other employing agencies e.g. CAA for pilots, Local authorities for taxis and other remote jobs. Although many of them will follow rules similar to the DVLA each of these organisations are governed by their own rules and regulations

Healthy Heart Check

Wessex Cardiology provide a "Healthy Heart Screening" service. This involves a consultation with a consultant cardiologist an ECG, risk factor assessment and examination.
