Non invasive facilities
With a recently refurbished Non Invasive Cardiology Suite, Wessex Cardiology is able to provide a complete spectrum of non invasive cardiology investigations, undertaken at the Spire Southampton Hospital. All investigations are reported by a consultant cardiologist. Non Invasive Cardiology Clinics are held four days per week, and offer the following investigations:
- Transthoracic Echocardiography
- Transoesophageal Echocardiography
- Stress Echocardiography
- Exercise Testing
- Ambulatory ECG Monitoring
- Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Cardiac Event Recorders
- Pacemaker Checks
Invasive facilities
Following a £1 million upgrade to existing interventional facilities at the Spire Southampton Hospital, a new catheter laboratory was commissioned on 1 August 2008, and in conjunction with Wessex Cardiology, is able to offer the following aspects of invasive cardiology investigation:
- Cardiac Catheterisation
- Coronary Angiography
- Coronary Angioplasty (PCI)
- Pressure Wire Assessment
- Permanent Pacing
- DC Cardioversion
